“As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation” (Proverbs 10:25).
This is a wonderful proverb that portrays wickedness as a passing storm. All evil and wickedness is just that, a storm that will pass by. No matter how wicked, how severe or for how long, it is only temporary and will pass.
The Psalmist further explains that righteousness is an everlasting foundation. Righteousness is of God. It is truth. It is what is right. It is the standard of God, it is His being. God is right and anything not in-line with God and His word is wrong. It is as simple as that.
God’s righteousness is an, “everlasting foundation”. Everlasting meaning perpetual, indefinite and unending. The foundation-God-is our base. He is what we rest our very soul, spirit, breathe and being on.
God is from everlasting to everlasting. He is, “The King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God” (1 Timothy 1:17).
Fear not the present storm, nor fret the length of it. It shall pass. Stand on the right-ness of God. It will sustain you and uphold you in perpetuity.
