“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:9)
God has not created us for punishment. Our purpose is not to experience His wrath. God has called us to “obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ”. The key word here is “by”. Our salvation and eternal life only can come by Jesus Christ. For this to happen we must accept Christ as our Lord and Savior.
Reject God’s calling. Reject Jesus Christ and you then reject your salvation. What won’t be rejected is God’s anger.
God has called us, predestinated us unto salvation. All we have to do is respond to that call and follow him. With God, “Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.” (Psalm 85:13).
Our righteousness is really just a simple matter of following in God’s footsteps. We don’t have to create the wheel, so to speak. The wheel has already been made and works just fine.
In addition, “Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.” (Psalm 89:14).
When we respond to God’s call and follow in His footsteps of righteousness then “mercy and truth shall go before thy face.”
Salvation, righteousness, mercy and truth are just some of the virtues of our relationship and salvation by Jesus Christ. This is what God has appointed for us, not wrath or punishment. Don’t you think that it is time to respond to God’s call?
