The heavens declare the glory of God

The heavens declare the glory of God

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” (Psalm 19:1)

The heavens, the known and visible universe recount the glory of God. The firmament, the area from the earth to the clouds show God’s handiwork. To see the wonders and miracles of God just look up.

Who can make a cloud? Watch a bird fly. How endless is the black abyss we look up into at night? Could chance really be responsible for all of those stars and planets?

From the small butterfly fluttering from flower to flower to the Sun at day and the moon at night, what idiot thinks they are all created randomly and not made by divine intent and design?

Everything that is, everything that exists, everything with form and function is an individual miracle of God. How could anyone believe that lightning or bugs or snow aren’t premeditated?

Intelligentsia will believe in chance and random acts before it will believe in God and divine intervention. As they look at each thing individually they fail to understand that all things have an interplay with each other. Is that a result of chance too? If all things were a result of random acts would not life itself be a series of random acts? Where would order be? What would make any rational or logical sense? The universe would be in such a state of flux that nothing could be.

God created with forethought and purpose. God maintains and restrains all things to keep order and so all things can exist in a constant state of being. If God let go all things would break down to their basic elements. People gone, worlds would stop spinning and dissipate, nothing would survive.

God created. He is the force that maintains and upholds keeping everything together.

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” (Colossians 1:16-17)

“…and by him all things consist” literally means “set in place” or “brought together”. God made it and he is keeping it all together.

There are no random acts. God made each and everything for His pleasure. He maintains and “holds” everything together and in place. God gives order, meaning and purpose to all of His creations. Just look up into the sky and the universe and be in awe of what God does.
