GPS System and Prayer

GPS System and Prayer

Almost all cars now days have a built in GPS system. The same applies for telephones. No matter where you are all you have to do is log in a start point and an end point and the GPS will show you how to get to your final destination.

Now wouldn’t it be silly if while during the trip you turned your GPS off? Some do, especially those who think they know a better way. But turning your GPS off would give you no idea where to go, what happens next or how long it should have taken you to finish your course.

This is what people do with prayer. Prayer is like a GPS in that it defines where you are in life, where you want to go in life and offers advice and helps when the going gets tough. But all too often people will stop praying in the midst of their life trek. They figure they know the way on their own or at least know a better way. Now they are stuck out in the wilds with nothing to guide them back home.

We are to “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Or in other words, we are never to turn our God GPS off and we are to always use it.

“When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice” (Deuteronomy 4:30).

In other words, turn your GPS back on by falling down on your knees and praying again! God will make the course clear for you. And whatever wrong turn you had taken will certainly serve as a life lesson that strengthens you as a person!

God’s GPS system (prayer) is perfect and fool proof. Never leave home without it!
