“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” (Romans 15:13)
God is the God of hope. He is our hope and full expectation of tomorrow and of all divine things to come. Hope is derived from nowhere else other than from God. God is hope.
In man’s world hope is nothing but possibility. Hope is a percent chance of something occurring. It is like a weatherman giving the next day’s weather forecast. The chance of rain is expressed as a percentile. That’s what hope is to most people. It is doubt and belief mixed, with one or the other given a greater chance of coming into fruition.
God’s hope is not a percent chance of success or of something happening. God’s hope is a certainty.
God, who is hope is the expectation of the coming future. What we hope for is real and tangible regardless whether or not it is currently present. Our one true hope is life and eternal salvation. This can only come through Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
With God’s hope of eternal life and salvation gives man the rest and assurance resulting in peace and joy. Turmoil is gone while resting in God.
The power of God’s hope is the Holy Ghost, His Spirit which fills us, guides us and educates us.
“But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians 2:10-14)
