After a long and rather convoluted debate over the constitutionality of prayer at Charlotte City Council meetings, it appears that at least for now, the opening invocation has resumed.
“Prayer has returned to Charlotte’s city council meetings after confusion was cleared over whether or not city officials thought the practice should be discontinued due to a recent circuit court ruling.
“What the council is currently doing is okay,” Jason Kay of the Charlotte city attorney’s office told reporters. “It is perfectly constitutional.” Christian News.
