Beware of What Obama said About Jesus at Prayer Breakfast

Last Tuesday was the annual National Prayer Breakfast. President Obama spoke on many things but our focus zero’s in on his statements of faith and Jesus Christ. What he said and how he said it reveals more of who he is.

obama prayer breakfast“So here we put aside labels of party and ideology, and recall what we are first:  all children of a loving God; brothers and sisters called to make His work our own.  But in this work, as Lincoln said, our concern should not be whether God is on our side, but whether we are on God’s side”. President Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast, February 6, 2014.

So in that specific time and place the President put aside politics and ideology so He could remember God. And that’s exactly what the problem is with America; God is no longer first. God is no longer the priority. Politics and ideology of self now rank supreme.

The President Obama is correct when he said we are all children of a loving God. We are made in God’s image. But our call isn’t to, “make His work our own”. Our call is to be His, not merely do His work. Anyone can do the works of God, even the devil. Besides, God isn’t some type of employer handing out work assignments. Our call from God is a love call from the Lord. Our call is to be in Christ and He in us thus embodying the very nature and character of God.

In God and Christ

“For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” Acts 17:28

The Apostle Paul in Ephesians tells us we are to be imitators of God as dear children. In short, we are children of God so we are to act like God. For us to be like God we must adopt His ways, precepts, commandments and His will. When His will becomes our will then His ways become a natural outgrowth from that relationship.

If we are the embodiment of Christ then our resulting thoughts and actions will be of Christ. There will be no need to “make” anyone “do” God’s “work”. God’s way will be a natural outflow of who we are.

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:12

We freely give because we have freely received.

“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” Romans 8:32

God and Illegal Aliens

Mr. President, we have to be of Christ if we want to be on God’s side. God does not allow illegal aliens into the Kingdom of God.

The President spoke of his work in Church and that, “It led me to embrace Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior”.

I believe it is substantive and not semantics to point out Obama’s usage of the word, “embrace”. He has a host of speech writers with ample time to craft each speech so each and every word is selected carefully. He said that he embrace’s Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and not that he accepts Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  To embrace is to do something enthusiastically. To accept is to believe in and regard as true. There is a big difference between the two.

Enthusiasm will wax and wane depending on the situation. Belief and knowledge of the truth of Jesus Christ is a rock, ever ready, ever present. But while he may embrace Christ he certainly hasn’t relinquished his hold on the world. You can’t serve two masters.

To accept Jesus would mean relinquishing the worldly reins of government to the Divine government.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

No longer could Obama champion such causes as abortion and homosexuality for these run in direct opposition to the word of God. Read, “Homosexuality Is a Sin”  and “Adam and Eve and Desire”.

No longer could Obama push so hard for an expanding and obtrusive government for it runs counter to the will and wishes of God. There was no government in the Garden of Eden, there was God but man rebelled. The Book of Judges is of God’s appointed and called people administering God’s will. And when the people rebelled and wanted to be “worldly” and have a government like everyone else God told Samuel, “Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them” (1 Samuel 8:7).

America was founded on God and Jesus Christ and the principals and precepts established by both. The foundation of America is Christianity. The intent of America and its Christian foundation was to support all that came to this country. Anyone could reside within our borders working on the premise and assumption that everyone would abide by its foundational principals and precepts. You can be who or whatever you want to be, but that idea applied to America and its foundation as well. There were two options given to all in America-Like it or leave it. But people like the President have created a third option. Instead of like it or leave it they now advocate change it. The nation, any nation will crumble if you change its’ very foundations to which it was built upon.

I believe Obama was telling the truth. I believe that he embraced the lord and did not accept him. Acceptance would not allow him to support the LGBT community or abortions. Everything is political to him, if you speak about what the lord has done for you and it is true, then no speach writers are needed.
